6:32PM - Lost dog, Help!

My dog got off his leash last night around 2am in Turkey Creek off of 441 in Alachua...please be on the look out and tell your friends who live in that area. My husband posted on craigslist and petharbor and called animal control, the animal shelter and some of the local vets. He also went door knocking in Turkey Creek. My dog's name is Zeke...he is not microchipped unfortunately and there is no contact info on his collar. He weighs about 65-70 lbs and looks just like his picture.

2:29AM - Housemate sought.

This is actually my community only journal. But anyhow:

The bedroom is unfurnished, but I have a television, couch, and old school video games in the living room, as well as kitchen stuff. The unit is on the ground floor, contains a washing machine and dryer, and is terrifically spacious.

The rent would be, to start out, 340 each plus utilities. This will decrease if/when a third person eventually moves in. The complex has 24 hour pool and gym and pets are allowed. It's located on the 13 bus line, about 8 minutes from UF campus by bus or car.

About me: I am a graduate student (in Classics) and enjoy spending my free time reading, playing video games, and messing with electronics. I also paint and do crafty things on occasion. I can cook and enjoy cooking (am strict vegetarian) and I plan to get my cat from my parents' house, but wouldn't mind a housemate with a dog, as long as it wouldn't eat my cat.

I am flexible; I like to drink sometimes but don't want to live in a constant party. I do not smoke cigarettes but do have a hookah. Would prefer that smoking be limited to outdoors on the patio. I wouldn't mind a disorganised housemate, as long as the clutter isn't unsanitary.

Most importantly of all: You must be able to be approved to live here, because I need to not be the only person on the lease. If we get along, and you're approved, you can move in ASAP.

X-posted, with variations, all over the place.

Current mood: hopeful

If anyone ever needs any framing done - go to Hector's Framing Gallery. Right next to 706.

I went there today, and Hector is a stand-up guy with an amazing selection and even better attitude.
He helped me find the perfect frame for what I needed, and he has excellent taste.

Seriously. I'm not going anywhere else, ever again.

3:58PM - Awesome dog has numbered days... Can you help?

There is a friendly, 1.5 year-old, male Am-Staff/hound mix named Whisper at the Alachua County Animal Control who needs a home within the next week or he will face certain euthanization. Three days ago he accidentally bit a human who was in the way of the dog he was trying to defend himself against at the humane society. Although his actions were in self-defense, the event made him a liability to ACHS, so they had to turn him over to Animal Control. I have spent time walking this dog and do not feel that he is aggressive. If you adopt him, you may be asked to sign a waiver for any future aggression he displays, but I can only imagine him being aggressive in self-defense or in loyal defense of his owner. To anyone able to provide this dog a good home, I would be eternally grateful. I am unable to give this dog a home, or I would have already adopted him. Call Bob at 264-6870 for more information about Whisper!

Please feel free to repost this blog in your personal journal if you want to help Whisper find a home but can't do it yourself! Thanks for any and all help!

xx

Christina

10:53PM

To all vegetarian-ish students out there: I am looking for a place to live for the spring semester (and possibly summer as well). All I require is a bedroom and a fenced yard for my dog. I have found a couple nice-looking places near campus, so either need roommates (1-3, depending on the house) or a house who needs another person.

OR people to sublease one or two BRs in my friends wonderful 2/1.5 townhouse with a poolview in Sun Harbor (within biking distance to campus and downtown, but also on a couple bus lines) for $300 + 1/2 util. each.

6:41PM - Sublet available ASAP

I am subleasing my studio apartment.

It is 500 square feet, it is in Sundowne apartments.

Sundowne is located right next to the Butler Plaza, right behind Center Stage and Spanish Trace. Paradigm does not own this property, GREMCO does. Animals are allowed here with no deposit.

My electric has not cost me more than $50 (and this was only 2 months in summer that cost that, and I keep my place like an icebox) and the lowest I have paid is $30.

The rent is $409 a month ($20 below market value), and COX cable and internet can be set up easily in this apartment, wireless internet is also available for $20 a month from the complex. I have had no problems living here, the management is great and so is the maintenance. The apartment is on two different bus routes, the 1 and the 34.

This is the floor plan.

Please email me at amgregg@ufl.edu or call me at 352-246-5215, or comment on here. If you or anyone you know is looking for a cheap, nice, close to everything place please contact me ASAP please.

~Ashley

P.S. January and February rent and utilities are already paid.
